From yesterday 19 December has been installed the Christmas tree and the nativity scene in St Peter’s Square and a new lighting system on St. Peter’s dome.
The big fir is 25 meters high comes from Vibo Valentia and the set of nativity scene (24 meters long and 12 wide) is composed by twenty terracotta statues in life size.
The new lights include hundred of LED spots, giving better result in terms of brightness and energy saving.
For this reason is reccomended a visit by night time at St Peter’s square to see the wonderful effects of this new lighting system.
Tree and Nativity scene, said the Pope, also touch the heart of non-believers and are a symbol of “unity” and “peace.”
