The closest beaches to Rome

Are you on vacation in Rome during  summer and don’t want to give up a few days of sea?
Among the many beaches of Lazio, the closest to the capital are:

Lido di Ostia, the closest beach, easily reached from Rome by public transport from the Line B underground stopping at Piramide station from where the train goes to Ostia-Lido.
The beachs are well organized and equipped with large pools with bars and restaurants.

The most direct and fastest way to get to Fregene from Rome is by bus, leaving from the metro station Cornelia near to west Vatican. Travel time is about 35 minutes. The bus stops in the
city center along Viale Castellammare, the main street of Fregene.

By train from Termini station you arrive to the station Maccarese and then take a bus to nearby Fregene. Upon your arrival, be sure to check departure times of trains and buses to return to

The beach of Ostia and Fregene are definitely one of the places nearest to Rome to spend one or more days on the beach soaking up the sun, while having fun at the disco, shopping or to go
eat in good restaurants … but if you want also beautiful sea and beaches you’ll have to make more kilometers from Rome .but it’s worth it, as described in the next article…
