Pope Francis proclaims a special Jubilee

Pope Francis announced that on next December 8, 2015, with the opening of the Holy Door of St. Peter’s Basilica, will begin a special Jubilee which will end on November 20, 2016.
The Jubilee is definitely one of the most important moments of the life of the Church.
During the Holy Year, a lot of faithful around the world come on pilgrimage to Rome to receive a plenary indulgence, or the cancellation of the penalties for the sins committed.
The highlight of the event is the passage through the four holy doors present in the Papal Basilicas: St. Peter, St. John Lateran, St. Mary Major and St. Paul outside the Walls.
The choice of Pope Francis was made in continuity with that of Pope John Paul II when he proclaimed the special Jubilee in 1983.
It’ will be possible that even be 25 million of pilgrims from December to next November 2016 will reach Rome.
